What happens during treatment

 

On the initial session, we will carry out an in-depth consultation including a full medical history prior to the treatment. This will help us create a personalised treatment plan to help achieve your desired results.

​

The treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles on acupuncture points on the face and body. The acupuncture points will be different from everyone as it will bespoke and tailored according to your goals and needs.

Depending on the treatment goal, the needles will stay in between 10-30 minutes. After removal of the needles, we will then apply a collagen infused face .

The treatment then concludes with a relaxing neck & face Gua Sha massage.

Each treatment usually lasts   around 75-90 mins

How to prepare for treatment 

​

Contraindications for treatment :

​

- severe chronic migraines

- uncontrolled high blood pressure

- uncontrolled diabetes

- cancer

- pregnant / trying to conceive 

- pacemaker / unstable heart condition

- cold / flu / unwell

- bleeding disorder

Before treatment:

​

• Avoid any blood thinners (e.g. alcohol, aspirin, Vitamin E, some herbal preparations and supplements) for 2 days prior to and 2 days after treatment. Thin blood results in increased risk of bruising, so help minimise bruising risk by avoiding anything that can thin your blood.

•  eat a couple of hours or have a light snack prior to treatment to avoid feeling light headed or dizzy

• not to wear make up as we have to wipe it off prior to treatment ; it is ok to wear lipstick

• wear loose trousers so we can access acupuncture points for legs and feet if needed

Aftercare :

• Avoid wearing make-up immediately after Aesthetic  acupuncture.

• Do not undertake any other facial skincare treatments within 48 hours 

• Avoid sun-bathing for up to 12 hours

• Avoid direct heat (intense sunlight & sunbeds) and indirect heat (sauna, hot bath, shower) for 48 hours after treatment

• Do not apply perfume or perfumed products to the treated area within 48 hours

• Do not apply any exfoliating skincare products for 72 hours after facial

• Always cleanse, tone and moisturise your face; to prevent loss of moisture, protect the skin from make-up and to keep the skin soft and supple

• Drink plenty of water

• Avoid intense exercise or physical activity  immediately after treatment
