What are Skin Boosters?

It is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid. Expect improvement in skin tone and hydration, as well as firmness and smoothed fine lines and wrinkles.

Are they DERMAL FILLERS?

No, they're not. Although they both contain hyaluronic acid, Profhilo /Sunekos /Jalupro have smaller molecule thus not creating volume. Skin Boosters have thinner consistency which spreads beneath the skin to stimulate synthesis of collagen & elastin which improves skin tone, elasticity & appearance.

PROFHILO

One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

By injecting hyaluronic acid into the dermis, with its consequent water binding, fibroblasts become stimulated, increasing collagen synthesis, primarily type I. The mechanical stretching of fibres in the extracellular matrix enhances the interaction with fibroblasts, raising their collagen production. Cutaneous density increases leading to more firm, smoother skin.

For best results- 2 sessions are required, 4-6 weeks apart. Results last up to 12 months and then regular touch-ups are required for maintenance.

Profhilo can be used to treat many areas of the body, the most common being the so called ‘5-point-facelift'.

How to prepare for treatment :

Discontinue blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, and Essential Fatty Acids, and multivitamins, a minimum of 7 days (preferably 14 days) prior to treatment. It is fine to continue iron and vitamin D for 2 days prior to and 2 days after treatment. Thin blood results in increased risk of bruising, so help minimise bruising risk by avoiding anything that can thin your blood.

Aftercare

•Use a cold pack to reduce any swelling or redness

• Avoid physical strain or sports for 24 hours

• Do not wear makeup for 24 hours • No further cosmetic therapies for a week post treatment

• Avoid the use of Sauna, steam rooms, icy temperatures, or UV radiation for 2 weeks post treatment

• Drinks 1-2 litres of water every day

• Botox should be administered 2 weeks prior (if you were planning Botox).

• Any Microdermabrasion or chemical peels should be done 2 weeks prior to treatment.

• Recent Vaccination? Please wait 4 weeks post vaccine before your treatment

• Dental Procedures should be done 2 weeks pre or post procedure
